I wasn't overly optimistic about dining at The Railway. It's an unremarkable looking pub in a residential area just outside Cheltenham's town centre. We went because we'd heard the beer was good (it was). It was a Saturday night and the main part of the bar/restaurant was already full, so we got a table in the much quieter snug. A well behaved dog called Dragon kept us entertained while we waited for the food. The menu fuses Thai cuisine with smoke house bbq. It shouldn't work as a combination, but it does. We ordered three different starters (the sweetcorn and fine bean fritters were my favourite), plus three main courses and two portions of rice.
